Please review the following requirements, application procedures and expectations from selected students before you submit your application.

Our current focus is undergraduate students who are actively working towards their thesis. Other students who may show keen interest in conducting research into an identified problem of interest may be considered for support, on case-by-case basis.

Applicants will be required to submit a well-written proposal delineating the aims and specific objectives of their study. The proposal must have a workable research design on how to achieve the aims of the study. This will be the major way to access the merits of each work, as well as determine if the research align with our values of promoting excellence and creativity in research among undergraduate students in West Africa.

Selection is merit based, not need based. Typically, selected proposals will have a robust study design geared towards solving a particular problem. Such proposals will be well-written, scientifically feasible or theoretically rigorous. Priority will be given to proposal which exhibit novelty.

Students who are selected may choose a supervisor with a full time appointment in their respective fields to serve as their advisor. In cases where students are advised by more than one supervisor, at least one must be a full time lecturer.

We provide financial support needed to conduct the proposed study. This may be partially or fully depending on the availability of funds and other factors. Students whose proposals are accepted will be required to submit a budget indicating resources needed for completion of their work. This will be used in determining the level of financial support for the project. Also, mentorship is provided in the course of the project, as may be needed. As the project progresses, students may be required to submit report of their accomplishments up to that point. Students are encouraged to highlight new research skills acquired in their regular reports. This regular reports also enable us to track of projects to determine which project(s) may require additional support.

A final report spelling out the different research skills accumulated, the important findings from their work, and other items, as may be deemed necessary, will be submitted by students who are supported by TiDi Foundation.

We encourage students to present their research to other researchers during conferences, seminars and other organized academic events as suitable. Participants are also encouraged to make their findings available to the global research community by publishing their results in high impact peer-reviewed journals as appropriate.

By the end of their research, we hope students gather adequate research experiences that would enhance their future career, particularly in research.
