Dr. Obirikorang is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Molecular Medicine at
Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He obtained
his bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology and PhD in Chemical
Pathology from KNUST. His research focuses on HIV, particularly finding
surrogate markers that will provide cheaper ways of diagnosing and monitoring
HIV infections. Over the years, he has mentored scores of undergraduate and
graduate students, many of whom are conducting research around the globe.
Headtlove Essel Dadzie

Headtlove Essel Dadzie is a co-founder of TiDi Foundation. She is currently a PhD student at the Molecular Biology program the University of Utah. Headtlove is passionate about socio-economic development through research.
Dr. Christian Wireko
Advisor
Dr. Wireko is a Senior Staff at Geosyntec Consultants. He holds a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from the
Florida State University (FSU). His PhD work has resulted in the patenting of a
technique that will revolutionize the design of hydraulic barriers used in solid and
hazardous waste containment facilities. Aside the success with his research, he has
mentored a couple of undergraduate researchers at FSU, some of which have won
state-wide undergraduate research competitions. He is extremely passionate about
using impacting the lives of the new generation of Ghanaian students through
mentorship.
Dr. Gabriel Gihana
Advisor
Dr. Gihana is a post-doctoral fellow at University of Texas, Southwestern Medical
Center. He obtained his PhD in Genome, Cell and Developmental Biology from
Indiana University-Bloomington, where he investigated mechanisms that coordinate
cell division with cell polarity and morphogenesis. He’s the co-founder of AfrisNet
(Africa STEM Network), a not-for-profit organization that assists undergraduate
students from Africa with applications to graduate school.
Alexander Kwakye

Alexander Kwakye is a co-founder of TiDi Foundation. He’s passionate about enhancing research among undergraduate students in Ghana and other West African countries. He’s currently pursuing his PhD in Genetics at Stony Brook University. He believes in collaboration, cooperation and progressive development of society through research.
Dr. Laud Anthony Basing

Dr. Basing is the CEO and Founder of Incas diagnostics, a social enterprise in Ghana,
which seeks to save lives through the design and production of low-cost, point-of-care diagnostic test kits designed specifically for Africa. He obtained his bachelor’s
in Medical Laboratory Technology and PhD in Microbiology from Kwame
Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He also holds a master’s in
Biomedical Engineering from Purdue University. His passion about driving
societal change through research and development has led to the innovation of
multiple rapid test kits for diagnoses of various diseases around the world
